Football, downpour with hail: Catanzaro-Venice suspended

Bad weather in place across much of Italy on this May 1st. While the rain is hindering the Concertone in Romea violent man downpour it fell upon Catanzaro while the Serie B match between the hosts and Venezia was taking place. The match was suspended with the result 1-1, after about ten minutes spent in the pouring rain and even the hail. The result is that the pitch of the “Nicola Ceravolo” stadium has become soaked and impassable, especially in the half in front of the benches. Several attempts were made to restart the game with referee Ayroldi and captains Iemmello and Pojhanpalo who tried to bounce the ball but without success. The match then resumed at 4.15pm.
