BOLOGNA, 01 MAY – Minute of silence, at 2.17pm – just when 30 years ago Ayrton Senna crashed his Williams in a fatal accident at the Tamburello curve – at the Imola racetrack. Present on that strip of asphalt, to remember the Brazilian driver and the Austrian Roland Ratzenberger, who died the day before in a qualifying accident, the Vice President of the Council of Ministers and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Antonio Tajani, the Minister of University and Research, Anna Maria Bernini, the Minister of Foreign Relations of the Federative Republic of Brazil, Mauro Vieira and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Austria, Alexander Schallenberg. At the institutional ceremony, Ayrton’s nephew, Bruno Senna; the CEO and president of Formula 1, Stefano Domenicali; the president of Formula Imola, Gian Carlo Minardi; the president of the Emilia-Romagna Region, Stefano Bonaccini; the president of ACI, Angelo Sticchi Damiani and Roland Ratzenberger’s father. At the end of the minute’s silence, flowers were laid at the Tamburello Curve and, subsequently, at the Villeneuve Curve, the points of the fatal accidents of Senna and Ratzenberger. Many Formula 1 and motoring enthusiasts flocked to commemorate the thirtieth anniversary of the death of the two drivers on the Imola circuit with a large representation of Brazilian fans.
