“It’s not enough to ask for resources, you also need to know how to use them and manage the reconstruction. On the sports field of Borello, flooded and damaged, we have the clear demonstration of how the Municipality of Cesena is very good at artfully whipping up controversies, but how, when tested by facts, it does not keep faith with its announcements”. This was declared by Nicholas Pellegrini, candidate for the administrative elections of 8-9 June with Fratelli d’Italia.

“The Meloni Government, and we say this with pride, as reported in the latest resolution of the commissioner structure, has allocated 100,000 euros for the restoration of the facility, but despite the declarations of the deputy mayor and sports councilor Castorri, the works on field 2 will not they are still finished despite having been started for some time – underlines the FdI representative -: to date the construction is still missing and so the field in question has never been used. And then it is strange how the announcements on Facebook, such as the restoration of the multi-purpose synthetic field, are only true on social media: Castorri announced this on 3 April, but the company that manages the field has not yet received the authorization to use”.

But the critical issues do not end here. “The old synthetic field is piled up inside the structure and this waste has not been removed – adds the candidate councilor of Fratelli d’Italia – but what is more serious is that one year after the flood the interventions on the main field they haven’t started yet: in June, however, the concessions for the current operators of the plant expire. There are many unknowns about the future of this sports centre, important for Borello and the whole valley: to date the field is not safe, beyond the promises nothing has been seen, the sports club and the parents of the children who play are asking for clarifications on the next season . Clarifications that we too, with a question presented by Enrico Castagnoli, asked the Municipality, but the 30 days within which the Administration would be required to provide the requested information have passed without receiving a response. The risk – concludes Nicholas Pellegrini – is that of losing a football heritage that has existed for many years, a point of reference in the valley and a meeting place for young people”.
