There Civil protection of the Region, in consideration of the evaluations of the Functional Center, extended by a further 24 hours, on most of the Campaniathe current Yellow level weather alert warning for sudden, sudden and intense rain and thunderstorms.
Storm phenomena will still be characterized by forecast uncertainty and rapidity of evolution and possible lightning, hail and gusts of wind are also expected. Attention must be paid to hydrogeological riskas stated in a note. Among the main consequences of the impact of rain and storms on the ground are flooding, rise in hydrometric levels of watercourses, flow of water in road surfaces, runoff with transport of material, rock falls and landslides also in consideration of saturation of soils or conditions of hydrogeological fragility of the land.
Due to possible hailstorms and gusts of wind, there could also be damage to temporary structures, public green areas and roofs. Municipalities are reminded to keep the COCs (Municipal Operations Centers) active and to pay attention to communications from the Regional Operations Room Unified and to implement all measures aimed at preventing, combating and mitigating the foreseen phenomena, in line with the respective municipal civil protection plans as well as monitoring the correct maintenance of public green areas. These are the areas affected by the yellow weather alert for thunderstorms: from 12pm today 1st May until 12pm tomorrow 2nd May all of Campania; from 12pm tomorrow, 2 May and until 12pm the day after tomorrow, 3 May all of Campania with the exception of alert zones 4 (Alta Irpinia and Sannio) and 7 (Tanagro).
