Excellent news forReggio Calabria Airport, which started 2024 in the best way possible. Assaeroporti, the Italian Association of Airport Managers in our country, has published the official traffic data of all airports referring to the month of March 2024 with the partial progression of annual passengers. We therefore have the total for the first quarter of the yearand the data really is exceptional for the Strait port.
Passenger traffic between January, February and March, in fact, al Tito Minniti from Reggio Calabria And increased by 28% compared to the same period a year ago. It is the fastest growing airport in the whole of Southern Italy, and among those that are growing the fastest in the whole country. In percentage terms, only 5 airports did better viz Olbia (+37.8%), Trieste (+37.0%), Rome Fiumicino (+30.7%), Florence (+30.4%) And Ancona (+30.3%). In absolute terms, the data for the Reggio airport are still very low, but to understand the trend, the percentage that demonstrates the difference compared to last year is more important. It is therefore more than likely, we would say banal and obvious, to expect that Reggio Calabria Airport can return close to its absolute records by 2024then overcome them easily in 2025 when – with this scenario – it is not difficult to think of being able to reach even 1 million passengersan unprecedented figure in the history of the Reggio airport.
