The news was already in the air, but now the official announcement has arrived. The Captain of Reggio Bic, Sripirom Pongsakorn, known to all as “Baz”, has renewed the agreement to remain in Reggio Calabria for quite some time. His attachment to the shirt can only be an example. Growing and helping a team grow is not for everyone and instead “Baz”, the courageous Captain, is demonstrating that with him this is absolutely possible and that Reggio Calabria can aspire to reach higher and higher in the top league of Italian wheelchair basketball and internationally.

The Thai athlete born in 1997 will once again wear the Reggio BiC shirt for the fourth consecutive season. Having arrived in Italy practically as a very young man and an athlete unknown to the experts, thanks to the “scouting” activity of coach Antonio Cugliandro, who strongly believed in him from day one, he now finds himself to be one of the most sought-after athletes in the panorama world championship of wheelchair basketball. It is useless to hide that thanks also to his arrival in Reggio Calabria, where the team began as a true Cinderella of the Italian Serie A, today Reggio Bic is a consolidated reality before everyone’s eyes, whose dream now, step by step, will be that to become an increasingly important, consolidated and renowned club.

Baz, as a true captain, has once again demonstrated that he reciprocates the extreme trust of the club and staff and is grateful towards the club he launched, also and above all demonstrating that to be champions it is not always necessary to have to win.

Below are the athlete’s statements: “I strongly believe that in Reggio Calabria there are all the conditions to win, it is a beautiful city where players can live in a peaceful environment where they work very well to grow sportingly with basketball in a wheelchair.

Furthermore, the club is very organized and serious, always putting its players in the best conditions to be competitive and happy. I am convinced that by continuing to work together, we can aspire to increasingly important competitions. I’m here and I’m really happy to stay here in Reggio Calabria and fight for the colors of my city.”
