LAPD and DEA investigate Matthew Perry’s death

NEW YORK, 21 MAY – Six months after the tragic death of Matthew Perry in Los Angeles, the city police and the federal Drug Enforcement Administration (DEA) have opened a joint investigation to ascertain how the actor could have come into possession of all the ketamine that was found in his body and which, according to the medical examiner’s examination, would have caused his death. The Hollywood Reporter has learned. The coroner’s report attributes the combined effect of cardiac overstimulation and respiratory depression to the high levels of the anesthetic which would have been fatal to the Friends actor. The ‘Friends’ star is known to have been receiving ketamine infusions to keep mental health problems at bay, including depression, anxiety and alcohol and drug addictions. The last infusion would have been given to him a week and a half before his death and according to the autopsy it could not have been the fatal one, since the anesthetic is eliminated from the body in three or four hours. Perry was found dead face down in the water of his home’s jacuzzi on October 28. The actor was 54 years old.
