The IX Edition of “Sersale in the cellar 2024” has concluded. The large participation and pleasant temperatures contributed to the perfect success of this beautiful event
In recent years, the event has seen a crescendo of passion and enthusiasm among the numerous competitors.
The number of competitors in the race was 28, this year there was also room among the participants for someone from neighboring countries. Five industry experts, including four sommeliers and a winemaker, made up the technical commission, assisted by the popular jury made up of a very large audience. The evening was enriched by the presence of the ALT band who pleasantly enlivened the event.
“As always – we read in a note – a dutiful thank you to the precious collaboration of the numerous sponsors, to the municipal administration entirely in the person of the Mayor Carmine Capellupo. We extend our congratulations to the winners of this 9th edition, and we can proudly state that also thanks to this initiative that every year there is a clear improvement in the product, as highlighted by the technical jury”.
The founder and president of the Mar Jonio Award, Luigi Stanizzi, once again highlights the organizing capacity of the Sersalese associations, which always manage to promote large events of high cultural, social, tourist and recreational value.
“The special prize – adds the statement conilcuoreconlemani prolocosersaleaps – was awarded by the technical jury to Angelo Talarico, who produced the wine with grapes grown in the area. The prize received was a true work of art, a beautiful wrought iron sculpture created by the master Giuseppe Campise aka “Campino”, depicting a chalice with a bunch of grapes. On the podium of the technical jury were Rosario Zappalà in third place, Natale Pitari in second place, on the top step once again for the second consecutive year Serafino Bianco “Cantina Bugiardo”.
The popular jury awarded third place to Valentino Torchia, second place to Pasquale Vuono, and first place to Salvatore Palaia. Heartfelt thanks to the Presidents of the Petronà and Andali pro locos for their welcome presence.
