Morten Thorsbymidfielder of Genoa who opened the recent 3-0 win over Cagliari, granted an interview to The 19th Century. Below are some steps.
The 3-0 against Cagliari was the salvation celebration, what did you think at the end of the match?
“That life always gives you opportunities and you have to be good at seizing them. I had come from difficult months, in which I hadn’t played much. But last year I had had physical problems, I needed to find myself. And in recent months I have worked good, I feel fit. I dreamed of a match like this, I managed to show Thorsby at my best and I think a match like this could be a turning point in my career.”
Did coming to Genoa after Samp create problems for you?
“I know that some didn’t take it well, I understand and I can only say that at Samp I lived three very beautiful and intense years. Then I left, I wanted to come back because I love Genoa and Liguria. Genoa gave me this opportunity, It’s a choice I would make again: there’s great enthusiasm. I’m a professional, now I play for Genoa and I’m proud of it.”
Gilardino has always held her up as an example of commitment in training.
“There was always a dialogue with the coach, he explained to me the reasons for his choices and what I needed to improve on to be useful to the team. Especially in midfield there is a lot of competition. But it helps to know that you are considered even when perhaps you don’t play much.”
