The beloved Genoese writer arrives at the Alberi d’acqua bookshop in via Rossini in Asti Sara Rattaro.
On Thursday 9 May at 6pm he will present his new book to the Asti public “I am Marie Curie”published by Sperling & Kupfer.
First woman to teach at the Sorbonne, twice Nobel Prize winner (in 1903 for Physics together with her husband Pierre Curie and in 1911 for Chemistry) Marie Curie is told by Sara Rattaro in a fictionalized and widely documented story.
A novel in which Sara Rattaro, a much loved writer, winner of awards such as Stall and Rapallo Carige, returns the figure of a woman and a great scientist who remains an example of how women have had to fight to affirm their identity and their role in the world. The book is also an invitation to reflect on challenges that women still face today in the scientific field and in many other areas of society.
Through the pen of Sara Rattaro, the figure of this prodigious woman reaches us to bring her necessary and powerfully contemporary message to every area and sphere of today: put on your courage and challenge the world. It’s possible. We can all be Marie Curie.
The author
Sara Rattaro was born in Genoa. She graduated in Biology and Communication Sciences, she is the author of novels received with great success by booksellers, readers and critics, and translated into nine languages.
Professor of Creative Writing at the University of Genoa, she directs the Italian fiction series of Morellini Editore and the writing school «La fabrica delle storie» and is also the author of children’s novels, published by Mondadori.
The teacher will dialogue with the author Maria Luisa Moseleretired teacher and head teacher, now a writer.
