The initiative, which involves 5 provinces, was promoted by FITP Sicilian regional committee

The sport for everyoneas an antidote against indifference, a precious ally of integration.

There Sicily Foundation supports, with a contribution of over 21 thousand euros, TheWheelchair tennis project in Sicilypromoted by FITP Sicilian regional committee (Italian Tennis and Padel Federation).
The provinces involved are Messina, Catania, Syracuse, Trapani and Agrigentotennis players in wheelchairs more than 30between agonists and non-agonists.

“The Wheelchair Tennis Project is an important example of passion for sport and life, increasingly encouraging the development of wheelchair tennis. It is not the first time that the Sicilia Foundation – comments Frresident, Raffaele Bonsignore – enthusiastically supports initiatives of this kind, created not only to increase integration through sport, but also to support those families who cannot afford the costs of activities which, instead, are essential to combat situations of isolation and which favor a healthy competition”.

In fact, there are numerous meeting opportunities within the project, among workouts – played at least twice a week – ralliesin Palermo and, for members, also tournamentsalways with the supervision of qualified masters for this type of activity.

“The project supported by the Sicilia Foundation – states the maestro Tanino Alfano, president of FITP Sicily and coordinator of wheelchair activities – lasts 8 months and has seen the participation of senior and junior users, for an age ranging from 7 to 40 years”.
