Castilenti loses its mayor Giuliani – Teramo

CASTILENT. In his last interview he spoke, with pride, about recovery, rebirth and the future of his Castilenti. The future of the village of Val Fino has always been the horizon of his administrative action and he has traced an important furrow there, guided by a profound love for his territory and for his community. That future that he saw only partially realized because an illness tore him away from his plans as mayor and man at the age of 58. Alberto Giulianithe beloved mayor of Castilenti, passed away yesterday morning at the Atri hospital with the same silence and reserve with which he loved to act, without ever being in the spotlight, but certainly remaining in the hearts of his people who mourns him and remembers him as “the kind mayor”.
THE THIRD MANDATE
A bitter awakening for the valley and the province, where he was appreciated as an administrator and as a person. A year ago he was re-elected for the third consecutive term with over 60% of the votes. An application that came after discovering the disease that had forced him to undergo invasive treatments, but which, as he had confided, he had accepted because his team and fellow citizens had asked him to do so and because he wanted to complete all the projects he had started. Giuliani, who by work was a manager of Italiana Petroli, dedicated time and effort to writing a new history of Castilenti based on improving the living conditions of residents, especially young people. And always participating personally in community activities. Many remember him on the front line in the difficult months of the first Covid wave, which heavily hit the Fino valley in 2020.
THE CONDOLENCE
«It was a privilege to know and love a person of the highest level, a man from another era, a dear friend, as well as a precious collaborator», is the dedication of the director of the newspaper “Vallata Oggi” Luca Salini, who expressed condolences with the entire editorial team. Next to the empty chair and desk in the town hall, Giuliani’s team promises to continue the path undertaken. «Our mayor, our Alberto, has changed the face of Castilenti with constant dedication and love, even in the last difficult year», the deputy mayor says, moved. Sabina Mazzocca and the councillor Filippo Antonelli, with him for 11 years in administration, «he was a capable administrator, a guide, a father for the community who loved him so much that they earnestly asked him to run again. And if he had run again, we would have done so too. Alberto had an uncommon humanity, he always thought first of others and of the country: he left an indelible mark of his greatness, beyond borders and political colours.” Giuliani’s transversality is recognized by all. «You taught your collaborators, as well as your adversaries. Thank you for giving politics all the humanity that he has lost”, is the message from the 5 Star councilor of the Municipality of Città Sant’Angelo Stefano Seracini. There were many messages of esteem and affection which highlighted his being a respectable person, a great worker, with rare kindness, always available, especially to those who needed it. Giuliani leaves behind his wife Lorella, his children Giacomo and Marianna and grandchildren John, Paolo and Alberto. The funeral chapel was set up in the church of San Rocco, the funeral today at 3.30 pm in the church of Santa Vittoria.
