Clear and deserved victory for PVT Modica, which last Saturday at the “Geodetico” in via Fabrizio, “scrambled” vice leaders Albaverde Caltanissetta in three sets in the key match of group L of the women’s B2 volleyball championship.
Coach Luca D’Amico’s girls have proven to be the strongest team in the group and have deservedly won the right to face the promotion play-offs first; he will naturally have a better chance of moving up to B1 because if he loses the first play-off he has two more at his disposal.
The match was played in front of a beautiful audience with a large representation of Nisseni fans who, at the end of the match, despite the heavy defeat suffered by their favorites, sportingly applauded the winners and losers. 25/16, 25/19, 25/13 the partials of a match that speak for themselves; after an initial phase of balance in the opening partial, PVT, thanks to the inspired direction of Miki Brioli and the scoring streak of Beatrice Meniconi, began the “escape” towards victory, gradually but consistently widening the score gap. In the end the success comes with a peremptory 25/13 which is the litmus test of what happened on the pitch and with the red and whites going to celebrate the deserved victory and leadership of the group together with their fans.
