She had recently returned to live with her father, the young woman who in just over a month had to deal with her mistreatment by the man, also suffered by his new partner.
Violent episodes, threats and outbursts of anger sometimes even in the presence of the couple’s young children. The episode that broke the camel’s back occurred in early April when her father, a 33-year-old from Acireale, had listened to the young woman, exasperated with her, as she vented to one of her friends.
On that occasion the man, as soon as they returned home, had violently hit his daughter with his hands and kicked, even tearing out locks of her hair.
This violent episode, which occurred in the early afternoon, would also have been witnessed by the 33-year-old’s partner, who, faced with the scene of the father who had come to squeeze his daughter’s neck with his hands, had called 112. Once on site, the carabinieri having secured the two women and given the obvious injuries suffered by the girl, they called an ambulance. Just then, the 33-year-old returned home, barefoot, in trousers and a vest, smelling strongly of alcohol and slurring.
The Carabinieri arrested him for the crime of domestic abuse, making him available to the Judicial Authority which, after validating the arrest, ordered him to be placed under house arrest in a different home.
