A young suspect, already known to the authorities for a series of crimes, is arrested with a significant quantity of drugs and dealing equipment
REGGIO CALABRIA, 30 APR 2024 – In a rapid action, the agents of the State Police arrested an individual in the city center for detention for the purpose of drug dealing. The suspect, on foot, attempted to escape control by accelerating his pace, but was promptly stopped.
The episode occurred a few days ago, when the agents of the General Prevention and Public Relief Office of the Police Headquarters were carrying out a normal check of the area. They noticed a man who, upon seeing their car, immediately tried to walk away. Stopped, the suspect showed signs of nervousness and was subjected to a search on the spot.
The young man, a 23-year-old from Reggio with a criminal past that includes crimes such as extortion, personal injury and possession of narcotics, was found in possession of 11 wrappers containing marijuana already packaged, ready for sale, hidden in a shoulder bag.
Given the circumstances and the subject’s criminal past, the police continued with a search of his home, where two precision scales, other drug packaging material and another wrapper containing a narcotic substance similar to that found on the subject were found. ‘arrested. Overall, approximately 25 grams of drugs were seized.
The arrest was validated by the competent judicial authority, which ordered the man to sign at the Judicial Police for three days a week.
