After the Spanish GP, Francesco Bagnaia explained the tactics that led him to win ahead of Marquez.
Last weekend, Francesco Bagnaia he was the protagonist of one incredible fight with Marquez for the Spanish GP victory. The Ducati riders dueled until on the last lap of the race. Obviously, there was no lack of contact between the two. After taking the victory on the Jerez circuit, Bagnaia explained the strategy implemented in the final laps to defend against Marquez.
As reported by Crash.net, Bagnaia stated: “When I saw that Marc was behind, I pushed for two laps and did 37.8, but I saw that he was making money”.
“So I thought not to put too much stress on the tires at that moment because it was catching up to me. I just tried to have a little more rubber for the last three laps.”
“As soon as he made the second attempt in turn nine, from that moment on I tried to push again. And 37.4 arrived. This then helped a lot grow a little gap in the last lap”.

Subsequently, Bagnaia commented on the contact they had between them in the race, stating that he is comfortable in such close quarters fights.
“Yes because what happened yesterday is not what happened in Portimao. Sometimes the battles are more intense”.
“We can have contacts because it is more difficult to have a normal overtaking at this moment since everyone is very strong on braking.”
“It’s easy to brake so hard and the rider inside is spreading, so you have to try to close the line. It’s something that can happen right now.”
