Mario from San Damiano d’Asti is the current competitor who currently represents the Piedmont region in the well-known television show Your business broadcast on Rai 1.
The current “packager” of Piedmont at Affari Tuoi
Affari Tui is a very famous Italian television program by game show genre broadcast on Rai 1 in the access prime time slot, conducted from 16 April 2023, after a 6-year break, by Amadeus. Like any challenge, they are there 20 competitors from the 20 regions of our countrywho will have to pick up the package from the “golden loot”.
From tonight on the screen representing Piedmont, directly from San Damiano d’Asti in the province of Asti, there is Mario who takes the place of Silvia da Alpignano.
In his first episode the nice Mario, a firefighter by profession, opened a red package with the maximum value inside: 300 thousand euros. “What a heavy hand!” commented Amadeus.
How does the game work?
But how does Business of Yours work? The game consists of identifying the box containing the highest prize, generally €500,000, by randomly selecting it from an initial group of 20 boxes whose contents are unknown. The box must be identified by gradually eliminating all the others.
We start with 20 players, each representing an Italian region, each in possession of a box, the so-called “package”, the contents of which are secret, closed by a string fixed with a red wax seal.
The player chosen as a competitor, who also owns a “package” whose contents he does not know, will have to choose from time to time which package to eliminate: at that point, the contents of the chosen package will be revealed and excluded from the possibility of winning.
The player is opposed by one of the authors of the program, the so-called “doctor”, who, every time the competitor opens a certain number of packages, calls the studio to make alternative offers, generally lower than the maximum value of the package still available, or consisting in the proposal to exchange one’s “package” with another of those left up for grabs.
A little history of the program
Initially hosted by Paolo Bonolis, it then passed under the guidance of Antonella Clerici in 2005 and Pupo in 2006. Between 2006 and 2007 Flavio Insinna presented the program. From 2008 to 2012 the baton passed to Max Giusti and then returned to Insinna from 2013 until 2017. Insinna returned to the helm of the program which however closed in 2017 due to low ratings.
In the 2020 – 2021 season, Affari Tui returns with a special edition of five episodes broadcast in prime time and hosted by Carlo Conti. The program is called Affari Tui – Long live the spouses! and the contestants in the game are two engaged couples who are about to get married while the packages are opened by well-known personalities from the world of entertainment.
In 2022, another special edition of the program will be broadcast, Affari Tui – Formato Famiglia, consisting of six episodes, during which a first round takes place in which the task of opening the packages falls to the relatives and friends of the competitor, and a second game whose player is a VIP who donates any winnings to charity.
In 2023, the broadcast returns with Amadeus in its original version keeping the public company from Monday to Sunday in the time slot between the end of Tg1 and the start of the prime time programmes.
