A possible one is hypothesized food poisoning, but all hypotheses remain open. The principal of the Raineri Marcora institute, Maria Teresa Andena, explains: “We have applied all the safety protocols. The local health authority is carrying out the necessary checks on the foods used and the raw materials, confirming that we have operated in full compliance with the rules. Out of 24 students who participated in the laboratory, nine felt ill, while the others did not experience symptoms. So we are trying to understand what happened. The firefighters have ruled out the presence of gaseous contaminants, but checks are still in progress.”

HEALTH CONDITIONS OF STUDENTS WHO ENDED UP IN THE HOSPITAL

The students have already been discharged and are in good condition (one girl felt ill a few hours later than the others). None of the students are in mortal danger. In addition to the operators of 118, the San Nicolò Red Cross and the San Giorgio Public Assistance, the Piacenza firefighters and police officers also intervened to investigate the case.
