The pact on workplace safety was signed in the Campania Region

The governor of Campania, Vincenzo De Luca, signed a protocol this morning aimed at promoting safety and health in the workplace, as well as guaranteeing quality employment in the region. This important agreement involves business organisations, trade unions and institutions, committing them to maintaining the highest possible standards in terms of workplace safety.

According to De Luca, the protocol provides for the inclusion of bonuses in the tender specifications, which will oblige employers to guarantee the stabilization of employees, also promoting the employment of women and disabled people. This is a document of great importance, which aims to improve working conditions and reduce the number of accidents at work, a phenomenon that is still too widespread in the region.

The protocol, signed by the Region, trade unions and employers’ associations, is based on worrying data regarding workplace accidents in Campania. According to the INAIL Campania Region Annual Report 2022, 33,409 injury reports were recorded during the year, with a significant increase compared to previous years.

The agreement also provides for the strengthening of the fight against the phenomena of unfair competition and contractual dumping, in order to protect companies that respect national contracts and laws on safety at work. Among the commitments made, there are initiatives to support training and updating in the safety sector, as well as the creation of a shared regional model to strengthen safety measures in the workplace.
