Leone on revocation of ASE Board of Directors appointments: “We will protect ourselves”

DAILY STATUS. The recent revocation of the appointments of the Board of Directors (BoD) of ASE Spa of Manfredonia, by the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Municipality of Manfredonia, Dr. Rachele Grandolfooriginated a reply from the former CEO of the Siponto in-house subsidiary, Dr. Massimo Leone.

As published, with the decree of 24 April 2024, the Extraordinary Commissioner of the Municipality of Manfredonia, Dr. Rachele Grandolfodecreed to revoke “for just cause and with immediate effect”, the appointment of the members of the Board of Directors of ASE spa, Centola Michelewith the role of President, Leo Maximuswith the role of CEO e Murgolo Luciawith the role of vice president.

At StatoQuotidiano.it Dr. Lion expressed his position on this matter, declaring that he believes he has “operated correctly during his mandate” and that he is ready to “defend himself in the competent forums” to protect his reputation, and that of the former members of the Board of Directors and of the ‘agency.

“I am calm about everything I have done,” Leone said. “This applies to everything and all the most relevant protests. For example, when I reached the agreement with Michele Fatone, he was neither under investigation nor had he been the subject of a precautionary measure. I simply implemented the indications of the lawyers concerned following the order of the competent judge, who invited a conciliation between the parties.”

Leone also underlined that he had requested data from the Municipality without receiving a response, with a view to improving the service. “I find it strange that the provision in question arrives approximately 50 days after the June administrative elections“, he added, “following which I would have resigned our mandates anyway. I repeat: we have never received any complaints during the period of the CDA mandate.”

The revocation of the appointments of the Board of Directors was defined as “absolutely unexpected” by Leone, who specified that the contested fines relate to the “previous administration (of the former AU Raphael Rossi, ed.)”.

This situation has raised questions about the management of ASE Spa in Manfredonia and the internal dynamics of the company. Further developments are expected regarding Leone’s defense and the future actions of the company and the institutions involved.
