The episode that broke the camel’s back occurred in early April when the father, a 33-year-old from Acireale, had casually listened to the exasperated young woman while she was venting to a friend, confiding in her about her father’s oppressive and aggressive behavior. towards him, which have now become unbearable.
On that occasion, as soon as they returned home, the man, giving vent to his anger, violently hit his daughter with his hands and kicked her, even tearing out locks of her hair.
This violent episode, which occurred in the early afternoon, would also have been witnessed by his partner, who, faced with the scene of the father who had reached the point of squeezing his daughter’s neck with his hands, had called 112 NUE on her mobile phone, just a moment before the attacker took it out of his hands. Precisely in those moments, the girl, taking advantage of the distraction of her father, who was busy scolding the woman for that phone call she had just made, also managed to call the Carabinieri. This action had clearly not gone unnoticed by the man, who in her anger had snatched her phone and hastily left the house.
The calls for help had nevertheless managed to achieve their intent. In fact, the military personnel, alerted and coordinated by the Operations Centre, rushed to the woman’s home within a few minutes, providing assistance and immediately securing the victims.
In particular in the living room, the Carabinieri found the girl, in the throes of a strong crying fit, trembling, aching in the head and almost incapable of speaking; in her room, the clear signs of her struggle, including several locks of hair on the floor, torn by her father.
Given the obvious injuries sustained by her daughter, the Carabinieri immediately called an ambulance, which transported the unfortunate woman to the emergency room of the nearest hospital. Just at that moment, as the paramedics were leaving, the 33-year-old returned home, barefoot, in trousers and a vest, with a strong smell of alcohol on him, mumbling incoherent words.
The Carabinieri, who had already removed his partner from the house, then arrested the 33-year-old for the crime of “abuse in the family”, making him available to the Judicial Authority who, after validating the arrest, ordered him to be placed under house arrest in a different home.
