“New” goals and “old” assists. From Pisa and towards the playoffs, Catanzaro adds fresh resources to the usual confirmations. The best shots in Tuscany came from Ambrosino and Vandeputte, the most awaited boy and the most “accustomed” man among the Giallorossi. The striker broke a fast of four months and three days, the winger replicated one of his many performances as the prince of finishers. Both are shining due to their condition, conviction and play, one step away from the start of the post season it is the right time to shine: maybe not publicly, but Vivarini will have put a satisfied smile on his face thinking about these two. In reality Ambrosino has been traveling at a high pace for a good two months. From mid-February to now, the center forward from Procida has almost always been one of the most positive of the Eagles: the assist for Antonini against Ascoli and the one for Biasci in Cosenza, the many excellent performances scattered between Cittadella, the away derby, Bari and Cremonese at home, Modena and Pisa away, have given Vivarini back a player who, having overcome the apprenticeship period and the physical problems with which he began the season, has matured, improved, refined himself and is continuous. In Naples – the twenty-year-old is owned by the Neapolitans – they should thank Catanzaro and his coach for how he is growing.
Ambrosino knows how to do many things and does them well: he allows the team to move up by moving from the mark, he protects the ball which is a beauty (and he suffers a lot of fouls, therefore free kicks), he communicates with his teammates, he moves a lot. What has he missed so far? Clarity in front of goal, because after the two scratches scored against Pisa and Brescia in the first leg, a few more goals were imagined, but the one scored against Pisa again on Friday can unlock him. He would have deserved it much earlier, in Modena a millimetric offside by Iemmello frustrated him, however in these cases it is never too late.
As for Vandeputte, he was king of assists for two years in a row in Serie C and keeps the crown on his head also in Serie B. With the two from Pisa the Belgian has reached 13 winning services, an impressive number in itself considering that in no one else in the championship is in double figures, but that is stratospheric if you also count his nine goals, therefore 22 goals between direct and indirect goals. Adding the Italian Cup, the “little devil” has 24 assists (14) and goals (10) […].
