Monza: Forza Italia against PUMs and “left-wing ideology”

Monza’s Forza Italia lashes out against the hypotheses of extending the restricted traffic zone and expanding paid parking contained in the urban sustainable mobility plan adopted on March 28 by the council. On Saturday 27 April the party launched the «information campaign» which will continue in various neighborhoods.

Monza: Forza Italia against PUMs, «risk of desertification of the centre»

«Monza – says the city coordinator Giuliano Ghezzihe is a victim of the left-wing ideology that the administration is following in an attempt to satisfy some extremist environmentalist groups. The measures announced risk turning the center into a desert because, without an adequate strengthening of local public transport, they will prevent many citizens from getting there: as a lady who lives inside the ring road asked us, how will her eighty-year-old mother manage to go and visit her if the restricted traffic zone is extended?”.
The isolation of the centre, he adds, would have «heavy consequences not only on traffic but also on the economy and safety as it would lead to the closure of many shops».

Monza: Forza Italia against Pums, the proposed changes

«We have no intention of underestimating pums – adds the strength player – nor to take it as a dream book: it is an administrative document and we consider it as such. The lack of a timetable represents a blank bill of exchange handed over to the council on duty which could implement the contents in a non-organic way, without first strengthening public transport».

Forza Italia, concludes Ghezzi, is preparing some proposals to modify the plan which will also include the strengthening of bike and car sharing services and the increase in electric vehicle charging stations.

Monza: Forza Italia against Pums, observations until 3 June

Until June 3rd it will be possible to submit comments on the document which should be submitted to the city council for approval in the autumn.
