Vicky Piria: «The Imola GP in memory of Ayrton Senna»

After many kilometers on the track, Vicky Piria began a collaboration with Sky Sports which sees her commentating on the Formula 1 Grands Prix, the next one is the Imola GP. A new, fascinating and stimulating experience. «Only now am I starting to really enjoy myself» he tells us jokingly, but not too much. «At first it was a little shock, then I realized that I had to start studying a lot and now I am more confident with the role that was assigned to me».

«When you are a pilot you don’t necessarily have to know the names of all the Team Principals by heart!». In Imola, Sky will be present live. «I can’t wait», he continues, «it will be beautiful. I’m really excited to get back on track Imola, although this time not as a pilot. It is a fascinating circuit with fast and slower corners. There will be no shortage of emotions.”

Last season, the Emilia Romagna Grand Prix was not held due to flooding. «I still have the images of those days in my eyes», he underlines, «It was an immense pain to see people in such difficulty. However, the Emilian people have great willpower and were able to get back on their feet quickly. It’s just been a year, but it feels like a lifetime ago. Everything is the same and better than before.”

In 1994 the death of Ayrton Senna shocked the Circus and the whole world. “It was a dramatic day, going to Imola this year will be an important moment for me, I will remember Ayrton in all his greatness.”

At the Imola GP there will also be the debut of a new Ferrari package. «There are many expectations, I believe that Team from Maranello is doing a great job and the fans can rightly dream. Of course, it will take a few Grands Prix before things work perfectly, but the path is the right one.”

«Next season, then, with Hamilton’s arrival in red, promises to be exciting. Lewis is the best on and off the track. I think he wants to use the next few years to finish his career as a driver on a high and then stay in Formula 1 with another role, perhaps in Ferrari.”

Before the end of this season Andrea Miki Antonelli could make his debut. «He is still seventeen years old, but all of us in the sector have been aware of his great qualities for some time. I know both him and his family, I am sure that Andrea will soon be a Formula 1 driver.”
