The “Animal Days”, the new event format launched in Matera, dedicated to animals, 27 and 28 April 2024, created by Silvana Laviola, Project manager for events, WFE vice president, told their world through science, art, play, with many educational activities aimed at children and adults, to increase the perception of the true value of animals, very precious in people’s lives.
This solidarity culture initiative took place at the I say Garden Center who accepted the proposal of the event, for social purpose.
“Animal Days” received patronage given its public utility of the City of Matera and by the Provincial Order of Surgeons and Dentists of Matera; it was also created thanks to the collaboration of the Social Promotion Association “L’ultima Luna” in Potenza, with the support of the press office of the Wine&Fashion Europe Magazine newspaper.
On April 27, the television show girl Stefania Orlando and the actress Anna Rita Del Piano were present to support the event’s mission.
Let’s meet the Dr. Laviola who tells us how the project she conceived and coordinated was born, not by chance in nature, in an important green “lung” with the property of Vivaio Dichio, company, to which it was proposed for the first edition in 2024.
The purpose of this ANIMAL DAYS event is to stimulate greater awareness and respect towards the animal world and nature.
We, mistakenly, speak of animals as “objects” of the home…..But they are precisely the main actors in our lives because, in addition to keeping children, adults and the elderly company, they considerably increase the psychophysical well-being of people with situations of discomfort or physical and mental disabilities.
More than a project in the physical sense, I would say that mine is a cultural project since what has particularly interested and involved me in recent years is the action/reaction capacity of the “new” culture, based on the importance of animals and the nature that surrounds us, which today is updated and certainly participated in the international debate by reciting a leading role, both in the animal world and in the world of nature strong in an ability to vision and interpret reality of extraordinary interest.
We must be open to change it’s at remedy And recover with great speed, look around us optimizing the importance that animals have in our lives, and the determining role that nature itself represents, factors that indicate change to us and with this our innovation capacity, making us dialogue with the environment, improving it.
The presence of the boys from the AIAS of Melfi was exciting (PZ) who were very happy to participate in the baby dance, baby face painting and petting Flame, Loredana Labriola’s child-friendly dog, and many other sweet dogs from adoption points of the Matera Elle Elle and Argo kennels.
The artist Michele Volpicella has created, in line with the concept of the event, some splendid works depicting a model with a dachshund, a kitten and a poodle
Very important scientific seminar on Pet Therapy, as co-therapy in the use of healthcare resources which was held on the 27th with important speeches by speakers such as Paola Serioveterinary doctor, zootherapist who spoke about animal-assisted interventions,Vincenzo Pierro, psychiatrist who spoke about the importance of PetTherapy in psychiatric rehabilitation, Lucia Carriero, neuroscientist who presented a study on the beneficial effects that contact with animals generates on the human brain and Bruno Laurita the president of social promotion “L’ultima Luna” of Potenza who spoke about the life experience of one of his associates with animals.
On the 28th there was another important event, that of the dog shows of the National Carabinieri Association of Basilicata, Tricarico section, for the search for missing personswith the representation of the Division General Luigi Finelli.
We can say with satisfaction that the event recorded an almost unexpected consensus.
