MONTESILVANO – “The League will work until the last minute to unite the coalition. But at the same time, if our legitimate requests are not taken into consideration, we are ready to run alone in the name of coherence, for the good of the city and for the credibility of the parties”.

The warning comes from the provincial secretary of the Pescara League, Emanuele Evangelistaand definitively clarifies the Northern League’s position with respect to the local elections scheduled for June in Montesilvano, once again marking a split within the centre-right majority which risks not presenting itself unitedly at the consultations.

The case broke out after the gang dumped the current mayor and president of the Province of Pescara Ottavio De Martiniswho says he is ready to take the field with civic lists, nominating the former councilor in his place Anthony Aliano and this is because, according to what was complained, De Martinis would have had other candidates voted for, compared to the Northern League ones, in the regional elections on 10 March.

And so, while the League asks for unity on the name of Aliano, the leaders of FdI, led by the president of the Region Marco Marsilio, and Forza Italia, continue to push for the reconfirmation of the outgoing De Martinis, even if, according to what has been learned, several from the two parties are inclined to support Aliano.

Hence Evangelista’s appeal: “The League works for the unity of the coalition and for the best possible program for Montesilvano. I am confident that our allies will share our reflections, ensuring the compactness of the center-right and that they will give their support to the candidacy of Anthony Aliano”. (B.C)
