Human bones in a forest, the police in Bologna investigate

BOLOGNA, APRIL 29 – The Bologna police have started investigations to give an identity to some human remains found in a wooded area in via Vallescura, on the hills of the city. These are 13 human skeleton parts, partly positioned near some fallen tree trunks. A scarf and, at a distance of about 10 metres, a trekking shoe were also found nearby. The officers reached the woods yesterday, following the report of a woman whose son, the previous day, during a walk with a friend had noticed a skull and some bones, presumably human. On site, also with the help of the Fire Brigade who removed some fallen trunks and with the support of a medical examiner, 13 human skeleton parts were actually recovered. The area was cordoned off and the remains were seized for subsequent safekeeping at the Body Observation Depot in Bologna. From an initial analysis – explains the police – the bones belong to a man over the age of 50, who died in a period prior to the last three years. Investigators listened to some residents of the area and also the owners of a clinic nearby, specializing in psychiatric and nervous system diseases, to understand whether the remains could be attributed to a recently deceased person. For the moment, no elements useful for identification have been collected. (HANDLE).
