SERRA SAN QUIRICO – Carlo Urbani and Gino Strada are the leading figures of the 39th National Theater School Education Review Of Serra San Quiricothe most important national event in the sector which from 26 April to 4 May transforms the Marche city into a stage and training gym for 216 young people from schools of all levels, 25 teachers, 20 theater operators from various regions of Italy.

The example of the two acts as the common thread of the 2024 edition doctors animated by the desire to take care of people, with their stories of courage and loyalty to themselves: Carlo Urbani, engaged in humanitarian missions abroad, isolated the Sars virus and, to stop the contagion, gave his life; Gino Strada, surgeon and founder of Emergency, has spent his life in places affected by war and poverty, to treat victims and fight for their rights.

The event is organized by Youth Theater Pirate Theatre, with a “polyphonic” artistic and educational direction signed by Fabrizio Giuliani, Arianna Baldini and Miriana Resconi. It avails itself of the support and collaboration of the Ministry of Culture, the Marche Region, the Unione Montana dell’Esino Frasassi, the Municipality of Serra San Quirico, the Regional Council of the Legislative Assembly of the Marche, Cooss; sponsors BCC Ostra Vetere and Togni Spa.

It is a cultural project that focuses on the importance of theater education in the growth process of children, a practice that promotes awareness of oneself and others, sociability and participation, inclusion, critical spirit. During the eventand you “do”, you “see” and you “reflect”: the children stage the shows created during the school year, talk about their experiences, practice theater on site under the guidance of expert operators, in workshops and theater laboratories, watch the shows of other groups and those of the professional companies present in the exhibition . On the calendar, every day, there are also many meetings with the protagonists of the sector, narrated excursions in the woods, book presentations. The events open to the public are at the Palestra Theater and have free admission.

Tuesday 30 April, at 3 pm, he’s on stage “W the mother”, open rehearsal of the final show of the Teatro Integrazione laboratory of the Rete del Sollievo of Jesi Ambito IX in collaboration with the Department of Mental Health in Jesi Ast 2 Ancona and Cooss Marche, for a production of the Teatro Giovane Teatro Pirata in collaboration with the Sick of Nothing review , directed by Simone Guerro and Arianna Baldini.

TO4pm another meeting around the Education Theater with one of the most active figures in the sector, Katia Scarimbolo, dramaturg, author, scholar and operator in the field of theater education and training. This meeting, entitled “See Theater Education”, and the one with Mario Bianchi are part of a free training package within the National Theater School Education Review, which calls teachers to watch examples of professional theater and theater education ( school and social) to decode, for the benefit of students, the specifics and values ​​of the two particular declinations of theatrical language.

At 9pm, gThe students of the IIS Galilei of Jesi stage the piece “A particular day”.

On Wednesday May 1stat 3 pm the students of the Amiata Ovest campus of Arcidosso (GR) are on the stage of the Teatro Palestra in “Non ho fare in tempo”, and at 9pm lThe staff of the National Review liven up the streets of Serra San Quirico with the performance “Serra sensorial: a gift!”.

Thursday 2 May at 9 am the students of the IIS Gobbetti Marchesini Casale Arduino of Turin perform their show “This is how the dead go to my country. The story of Peppino Impastato” which tells, from his mother’s point of view, the Sicilian journalist’s strenuous fight against the mafia.

At 3pm the “Chiacchiere” are on stage, an open rehearsal of the show by the Tos Villa Vicentina theater group from Fiumicello Villa Vicentina (PD). At 9pm there is “Hop Frog!” of the Tos Retrobottega group of Capezzone Pianore (LU).

We continue Friday 3 May at 3 pm with the IIS Gobetti Marchesini Casale Arduino of Turin in “A dream called Europe” and at 9pm the Tos La Bottega del Teatro di Capezzone Pianore (LU) in “AiLati. A mirror of Italy” on what it means to be Italian in 2024.
