The headquarters of the Carpaneto Public Assistance
Shortly before losing consciousness, he explained that he had been hit by a car which then drove away, without providing assistance. And unfortunately, now, he will no longer be able to give any other useful information to clarify the episode: 57-year-old Michele Dallavalle died on the night between Saturday 27 and Sunday 28 April at the Piacenza hospital where he had been transported by volunteers from the Carpaneto Public Assistance who they had found him seriously injured in the street, in front of their headquarters, about thirty meters from his house. And now, between camera images and other evidence, the Carabinieri of the Fiorenzuola Company are trying to solve this tragic puzzle.
THE FACTS
It all started shortly after 10pm in via Leopardi when a woman in a car started honking repeatedly in front of the Carpaneto public office, to signal the presence of a man injured in the head in the middle of the road. The volunteers immediately rushed on foot to rescue the man, who had obvious traumas and wounds all over his body and appeared unconscious. With him, there was a man who would have heard the last words of the 57-year-old before the medical intervention: Dallavalle would have told him that he had been hit by a pirate car. Then, he would lose consciousness. The 57-year-old was also helped by an 118 medical car, immobilized and then transported by ambulance to Piacenza hospital: on the way he briefly regained consciousness but was too confused to be able to speak. Finally, during the night, the sudden worsening of his condition, due to the various traumas and fractures suffered in various parts of the body, until his heart stopped beating.
The Carabinieri investigations have now started, coordinated by the deputy prosecutor Matteo Centini, to clarify the episode. The hypothesis of the pirated car will need to be confirmed and, if so, it will be understood where the 57-year-old was hit or whether he had the strength to move on foot. The identities of the woman reporting and the other unknown rescuer are also unclear. Some more elements could come from the analysis of images from nearby cameras.
WHO WAS MICHELE DALLAVALLE
Although he was originally from Piacenza, Dallavalle was quite well known in Rivergaro as he had managed for seven years – together with his ex-partner and two other partners – the town’s campsite along the Trebbia. A few years ago he was the victim of a serious road accident near his home in Rivergano. An episode from which he had emerged with difficulty. Now, due to a sad twist of fate, a new accident in Carpaneto – where he had moved after separating from his partner – still a short distance from home. Unfortunately, with a completely different outcome.
