The “Barbera” effect is no longer there. The defeat against Reggiana was only the latest of recent negative results collected by Palermo in their home stadium. The victory has been missing since February 17th.
Alessandro Arena, on the pages of the Giornale di Sicilia, underlines that the fast at “Barbera” has been going on for 70 days. After the 3 – 0 at Como on 17 February, the Viale del Fante stadium became a land of conquest: defeats came against Ternana (2 – 3) and Venezia (0 – 3), draws with Sampdoria (2 – 2) and Parma (0 – 0), and the defeat against Reggiana (1 – 2). Results that are leading to fan disaffection.
The number of bonds issued has continued to decline since the match against Como. The seasonal attendance record was recorded against the lagoon players, when there were 31,211 fans at the “Barbera”. For Palermo – Ternana there were 27,404, for Palermo – Venice the titles issued were 27,058, up to 20,601 for the match against Reggiana. However, the negative record remains that against Pisa, when 16,279 tickets were issued, of which 12,603 season ticket holders and 3,676 tickets sold.
