The Molfetta Women’s team beat Audace Verona 2-1 on the twenty-second matchday of Serie A and is preparing as best as possible for the Scudetto play-offs.
Mister Iessi, replaced today on the bench by Mauro Gadaleta, is without Belam and Foti. The first jolt of the match came from Biasiolo, kicking to the side from a favorable position, while the red and whites became dangerous with Vanessa and Bruninha. The race comes to an end in the fifteenth, with Vanessa completing a restart with Bruninha as best she can. The Audace tries to react but finds Oselame attentive and the final attacks with Puttow fifth of the movement do not break the score from the 1-0 with which they go to the break.
The second half opens with Pomposelli who deflects Bruninha’s corner into his own goal. The Scala players rush forward, taking advantage of the power play but the red and white defense rejects every attempt. Halfway through the second half Oselame takes center stage, protagonist of at least three decisive interventions, on the other side Vittorelli saves on Ion, Amanda and Bruninha. Just over a minute from the final siren De Cao scores the goal to make it 2-1 but the final attacks do not change the result.
The Molfetta Women’s team thus ends its regular season in fifth place. In the championship play-offs there will be a challenge against GTM Montesilvano: game 1 is scheduled at PalaPoli on Sunday 5 May.
