Vanoli Cremona is defeated in a sprint, in the last away match of this championship at the Vitrifrigo Arena in Pesaro, by Carpegna Prosciutto. A match that the blue and whites, already safe thanks to the victory eight days ago against Brescia, ended 91-86, led for large stretches. It was the baskets of Cinciarini and Tambone, in the final, that tipped the score in favor of the home team.
THE NEWS – We start with a first quarter played on the edge of balance. Cremona makes better use of the game under the basket with Golden and, above all, Eboua and responds to the three-point baskets from Mazzola and Tambone with McCullough. At the tenth it’s 22-26. In the second quarter the inertia remains in the hands of Vanoli who reaches the plus eight before Wright-Foreman and Bluiett bring Pesaro closer to 41-44. However, coach Cavina’s time out had the desired effect with Pecchia and McCullough restoring the advantage (41-49). We go to the locker room at 43-49. When the game resumes, Cremona manages the advantage with baskets from Pecchia and Eboua. Tambone puts his team back in the game and Carpegna Prosciutto puts their noses back ahead with Cinciarini’s triple (61-60). However, Vanoli responded immediately with Piccoli and Lacey to make it 66-68 in the 30th minute. In the last quarter, however, it was once again Tambone who took the lead and made the baskets which allowed Pesaro to move ahead. Cremona, with Pecchia and Lacey, takes the lead again but the hosts find three points from McDuffie for 80-78. Cinciarini and Eboua respond with three points, maintaining the balance in the score, then Tambone with the mid-range basket and Cinciarini with the free throws close the game. It ends 91-86 for Pesaro.
THE PROTAGONISTS – For Vanoli the best, as in the last few outings, is once again Paul Eboua who closes a game with 21 points, 4 rebounds and 1 assist for a 24 final rating. McCullough also scored double figures with 16 points and Pecchia with 10, as well as 7 rebounds, his best together with Golden. Davis is the best in assists with 7. Pesaro has Tambone as MVP. For him 24 points with 4/5 twos and 5/12 threes. Cinciarini, on the other hand, is the best in terms of rating with 30, the result of 14 points, 11 rebounds and 7 assists. McDuffie also reached double figures with 13 points and Mazzola with 10.
THE DATA – Cremona shoots 62.9% (22/35) from two and 33.3% (9/27) from three. Pesaro shoots 55.6% (15/27) from two and 42.4% (14/33) from three. In the free throws, Vanoli shoots with 78.9% (15/19), Carpegna Prosciutto with 82.6% (19/23). On the rebound it ends 34 to 33 for Vanoli. The assists are 22 for both teams, the balance of turnovers/stories is 7/5 for both the blue and whites and the home team.
