“My name is future, work, family, culture, legality. My name is Vincenzo”. This is how the lawyer introduced himself to the city. Vincenzo Di Stasocandidate for mayor in the next administrative elections of Manfredonia supported by the centre-right coalition composed of UDC, Lega, Puglia Popolare and the civic lists Strada Fare and Call me by name – Di Staso Sindaco.
The event that kicked off the electoral campaign took place in the central and characteristic square of Pertuso del Monaco overlooking Corso Manfredi at the presentation of numerous candidate councillors, supporters and citizens. Alongside the mayoral candidate Di Staso, Michaela Di Donna (former Member of Parliament and regional manager of the organization of the UDC Puglia party), Primiano Di Mauro (mayor of Lesina and provincial secretary of the League), Claudio Di Lernia (provincial coordinator of Puglia Popolare) and Gianni Rotice (former mayor of Manfredonia and founder of Strada Fare). Vincenzo Di Staso is 48 years old, graduated in Law from the University of Foggia and has been practicing law in civil and criminal law since 2001 in his firm in Manfredonia.
For several years he was part of the legal committee and the board of directors of the ‘Good Samaritan’ anti-usury Foundation and was a founding member and president of the non-profit organization ‘Progetto Futuro Uno’ which dealt with the recovery of minors and women at risk, as well as of the fight against exploitation and trafficking of women and minors. “We are a united coalition without conflicts, which has made shared and coherent choices from the beginning, without ifs or buts – declared Di Staso -. A group that has always reasoned in the light of problems and solutions and never of divisions of tasks and personal intrigues in some room far from the citizens. I have been involved in militant politics for many years, proudly and consistently always on the same side. I am applying with enthusiasm and I am not afraid to do so because I am supported by a solid and large group of respectable and competent people, who truly love this city, and many other people are approaching this project”.
Mayoral candidate Di Staso illustrated his programmatic road map. “Manfredonia needs an energetic jolt to start running again and overcome the many obstacles that create it.
Having had administrative experience – added Di Staso – we know better than anyone else what the problems are. Therefore, the commitment is to continue the path started in November 2021 by the Rotice Administration and which was already producing positive and productive results for the Municipality and the city. You have to be able to restart an engine that has been abruptly stopped.
A very powerful engine that requires starting spark and expert driving. Nothing extraordinary is needed other than to reactivate that virtuous circle of efficiency of services to citizens and real development for the benefit of everyone, primarily work. The main objective is to no longer see anyone sadly and forcibly leaving Manfredonia due to lack of opportunities and prospects”.
Di Staso’s three priorities. “Relaunch and strengthen the administrative machinery of the Municipality, give impetus to development and work by reconnecting the various relationships with the institutions, focus on our identity and our wealth, first and foremost the sea, an undervalued but fundamental resource for the fishing, tourism and infrastructure segments , on which the Rotice Administration had laid solid foundations on which we must continue to plan and invest”.
