Theatrical craftsmanship at Mida: fruitful collaboration between the archives of the Region and Maggio
Descriptive text here

Tuscany is also and above all made up of culture and within the Tuscan cultural tradition, artisan crafts have always played a fundamental role. In the case of the exhibition “La Mostra in Mostra”, now in its third edition this year, it is an evocative exhibition dedicated to craftsmanship in the world of theatre, which the Tuscany Region promotes with conviction thanks to the collaboration between the Historical Archive of the Region and the Historical Archive of the Florentine Musical Theater of the Maggio. The two archives have come together to remember an important episode of the Crafts Exhibition: the 1942 exhibition at the Parterre in Florence, where models of important squares and buildings were exhibited which in the 1930s had been “natural” city settings of lyrical works.
The satisfaction with the organization and holding, within Mida 2024, of the exhibition “La Mostra in Mostra” dedicated to craftsmanship in the world of theatre, was expressed by the president of the Tuscany Region who presented the event underlining how models from the regional archives of the main Florentine palaces and environments developed by master craftsmen are exhibited in the Cavaniglia pavilion of the Fortezza da Basso, for example Palazzo Vecchio and Palazzo Pitti, while the Maggio offers models of the costumes that characterized the construction of the scenes in these decades.
It is an evocative and suggestive exhibition that excites visitors for the beauty and art of Florence, it has been said, as well as for the great skill of the artisans who work and worked for the theater building models of sets, settings, costumes and hairdresses .

Note. The press release was drafted in an impersonal form in compliance with the provisions on equal conditions taken with the calling of the electoral rallies for the European and administrative elections of 8 and 9 June 2024
