Latina, 27 April 2024 – The Local Health Authority of Latina is the first healthcare company in Italy to receive gender equality certification: This was made known by “Certifica”, a body identified in the register of gender certification bodies, during the conference “The Single Guarantee Committee, the driving force for inclusion and equal opportunities against any gender violence for the administration and staff” , which took place in recent days in the Cruise Room of the Palazzo del Collegio Romano of the Ministry of Culture. The initiative is part of the activities of the Single Guarantee Committee, aimed at equal opportunities, the enhancement of the well-being of those who work and against discrimination.

The local health authority of Latina can boast four hospitals (Santa Maria Goretti of Latina, Alfredo Fiorini of Terracina, San Giovanni di Dio of Fondi and Dono Svizzero of Formia) and five districts, in which 66 percent of women work daily. Furthermore, women make up 51 percent of the managers of the Pontine ASL.

“The regional health service boasts a notable representation of managers in the top management of health companies but women are double the number of professionals in the sector and are committed every day to guaranteeing the quality of healthcare. We can therefore only welcome with satisfaction yet another recognition for the local health authority of Latina, the first in Italy on gender equality”, he stated Francesco Rocca, president of the Lazio Region.

“We are proud to be the first healthcare company in Italy to achieve this important milestone on gender equality, the result of a long journey undertaken by the General, Health and Administrative Directoratea – declared the extraordinary commissioner of the Local Health Authority of Latina, Sabrina Cenciarelli -. We will continue to strengthen policies against all gender violence, promoting inclusion and equal corporate opportunities.”
