The 26 year old video maker Carlotta Marricco from Aostawinner of the Aosta stage, is one of the semi-finalists of Incipit Offer.
The two semi-finals between 20 competitors will be held Friday 17 May at the Circolo dei Lettori of Turin e Saturday 18 May at the Archimede Library in Settimo Torinese (TO), presented by Chiara Pacillijournalist and TV presenter Massimo Picathe comedian of the Quartetto C’era, accompanied by the music of Enrico Messina and the harp of Elisa Tizian.
How the challenge takes place
The semi-finalists will have 60 seconds of time to read your incipit or talk about your book. The contestant who, according to the judgment of the audience in the room, will have obtained the most votes, will move on to the next phase, where she will still have 30 seconds of time for reading your incipit before the judgment of the technical jury which will assign a vote from 0 to 10. The 3 contestants with the highest votes will directly access the final, for the other 2 a new challenge opens up in front of the public who they will have to convince 10 seconds. The 10 finalists will then compete in the scheduled final on June 6th.
The first and second place contestants will respectively receive a cash prize of 1,500 and 750 euros; Furthermore, among all the participants in the final, the Italo Calvino Prize, Index of Books of the Month, Golem, Green Lion, Circolo dei Lettori and any other prizes awarded by the publishers will be up for grabs.
Incipit Offresi is the first traveling literary talent dedicated to aspiring writers, conceived and promoted by the ECM Foundation – Multimedia Civic Library of Settimo Torinese. Incipit Offresi is a real writing talent, the space where all aspiring writers can present their book idea. In 8 years Incipit Offresi has discovered more than 60 new authors, published 70 books and involved more than 10 thousand people, 30 publishing houses and more than 50 libraries and cultural centers. Incipit Offresi is an innovative opportunity to become writers and promote reading and writing, a bet based on a few lines, an investment in the author’s potential. The real chance of the initiative is the possibility offered to aspiring writers to meet and dialogue directly with the publishers involved in the various phases of the project, make themselves known and tell their idea for a book.

The other competitors in the race: 25 year old Giuseppe Rossi from Acquaviva delle Fonti (BA); Aldo Piglione, the 55 year old lorry driver from Cuorgnè (TO); Jacopo Mongiò aged 31 from Casale Monferrato (AL); the entrepreneur Bianca Brotto from Manerba del Garda (BS); Romano Rosolino aged 75 from Verbania; the 62 year old Patrizia Musolino from Turin. The names of the participants in the ballot: Gaia Borzino, Matteo Orlandi, Mauro Bennici, Francesca Bruno, Luigi Callegaro, Franca Garello, Federica Loreni.
