Passaro «Still open to dialogue, but come forward by April 30th. We have no problem making our own list”

This is crazyna, at the Avellino Press Club, a press conference was held by Massimo Passaro, leader of the “Citizens on the Move” list. With an eye inevitably turned to the next ones elections, Passaro says he is repeatedly disappointed by the attitude of indifference that spreads from every side of the Avellino political scene, regarding what he believes to be serious topics. «They only talk about the name of the candidate for mayor.» Passaro attacks, who then continues «We have been present in the area for years. We do not accept lessons, for example, from those who say they know all the tiles in the city. We are not tilers, but we know that none of these gentlemen said a word while they killed the greenery of the old Piazza Libertà. While they were building that hovel of the public bathroom which is now located in the center of that same square and which would have been possible to integrate in a different and more functional and accessible way also for the disabled».

There are many issues that Passaro identifies as urgent to address and of absolute importance: from Samantha Della Porta, to social services, passing through the bi-weekly market. He says he is ready to talk cwith the other political forces in order to resolve the dozens of problems that afflict the Avellino capital. «We have been waiting for years to dialogue on these issues. We are open to discussions with civic bodies and parties» states Passaro, then launching a jab at the other lists «I see Professor Rita Cesta and Rino Genovese here in the room, but where are the others? I believe that their behavior is incorrect towards the city and the people of Avellino. We propose a Civic Pact for the city. For an Avellino devastated by decades of bad administration. We have denounced the new restricted traffic zones, the pedestrian crossings, the speed cameras, the slaughterhouse, the autism center, the tunnel. – lists Passaro – Where were the Avellino politicians? Even in the opposition, what did they do?»

Passaro then concluded the meeting, issuing an ultimatum to potential allies «To date, everyone with whom we have sat at the table has only talked about names, never about programs. We are still open to dialogue, but please come forward by April 30th.»
