9/5/2024 – One of the first commitments that the candidate for Mayor intends to take on in the Municipality of Scandian, Antonello Salsiis to address the current state of neglect of the Tresinaro torrent.
If you follow the pedestrian path that runs alongside it, in particular from the hamlets of Ca’ de Caroli and Fellegara, and in the capital of Scandiano itself, the stream can only be glimpsed in some places. Most of the riverbed is in fact covered by thick vegetation to the point that seeing the stream is, for long stretches, impossible.
Near the bridge on state road 467 in Scandiano, there are entire plants and trunks that the current has dragged and which remain poised between the difference in height of the artificial waterfall and the riverbed. Other plants and bulky shrubs are found close to the arches of the bridges located on the aforementioned route.
All this, together with some failures of the banks that should not be underestimated, is evidence of the recent floods. It is clear that in these conditions the waters of the Tresinaro cannot flow out as would be necessary”, states the leader of the list, the lawyer Giuseppe Pagliani. “The prospects, easily understandable, could be those of serious risks for the population and extensive damage to homes, businesses and shops. We all still have in mind what happened a year ago in Romagna.”
“In the past we have always been concerned about keeping the riverbeds clean: it was a matter of common sense which was constantly and scrupulously taken care of – underlines in turn the mayoral candidate, Doctor Salsi – This despite the fact that there were no tools that we have now. Shovels, shovels and…. lots of good will.
Now we tend to pretend nothing has happened, perhaps justifying it with the fact that a part of the population does not want the trees that grow along the path of the stream to be touched.”

Instead, the current Scandiano council justifies the lack of interventions by saying that they are not their responsibility, but those of the Region”.
The commitment we make to citizens – they conclude Sauces and Pagliani – is that of dialogue concretely and quickly with the competent bodiesi, in order to improve the current conditions of Tresinaro, so that in the event of flood there is greater safety and tranquility for the population: because, everyone should know, prevention is always better than cure”.
