For the Benevento Spring the point that was missing to seal the conquest of second place with mathematics comes from a comeback. The Giallorossi stop the Naples at 1-1 and become unattainable for the Azzurri themselves, by virtue of the eight-point advantage, with two matches still to be played.
Race anything but simple for the boys Rocco, forced to chase after a few minutes. At the ‘Avellola’ sports centre, in fact, the Neapolitans got off to a vehement start and came close to taking the lead after a few minutes with Vigliotti (saving on the line of Avolio) and then they broke the deadlock with the attacker, who was able to beat Nunziante with a nice diagonal shot. Immediately after the blow, Benevento reacted and came close to equalizing on two occasions: in the first, the header by Elected it is central; in the second, however, from a good position Francescotti it only centers the outside of the net.
The Giallorossi striker manages to make up for it at the start of the second half: he is the quickest to arrive at the cross shot from Rossi and to give his team the precious draw. It didn’t end there, because shortly after Francescotti was able to complete the comeback with a nice header, but in the circumstance he found prompt opposition from Sorrento. Not bad, because the result won’t change again until the end and Rocco’s boys are fine with that.
Benevento Primavera therefore finishes in second place and will now have to contend with the fifth-placed team in group A in the play-offs which is currently theAlbinoLeffe.
