Carabinieri raid, pusher arrested and entrepreneurs sanctioned

The Carabinieri of the Torre del Greco company combed the streets of Ercolano in an extraordinary territorial control service, arresting a pusher and sanctioning two entrepreneurs.

Giacomo Esposito, a 33-year-old local already known to the police, ended up in the Carabinieri net. During a search of his home, the military found 24 doses of crack.

The man, in an attempt to get rid of the drugs, threw it into the toilet, but the Carabinieri were quicker and managed to recover it from the waste tray. Another 5 grams of the same substance were seized in a box, together with packaging material. Esposito, arrested for possession of drugs for the purpose of trafficking, is awaiting trial.

The checks, carried out with the precious contribution of the NAS of Naples, also involved several commercial businesses. The owner of a bar in via Panoramica was sanctioned for the “incorrect implementation of food self-control procedures”.

Similar sanction for the legal representative of a hotel in Corso Resina, who was charged with administrative violations for the lack of traceability of food products. 30 kilos of food were seized and the hotelier was also accused of serious structural and hygienic-sanitary deficiencies in the kitchen areas, with only the catering activity being suspended.

At the end of the checks, 52 people were identified and 26 vehicles checked. In all, 10 grams of hashish found in the pockets of some boys were seized, who will be reported to the Prefecture as drug users.

The operation demonstrates the Carabinieri’s commitment to combating crime and protecting the safety of citizens, also through targeted checks and collaboration with the NAS.
