Was arrested red-handedand is now available to the judicial authority, the thirty-year-old who today at dawn in Villafranca Padovana (Padua) allegedly killed his neighbor, 32-year-old Michael Boschetto, with a kitchen knife, with whom he did not have good relations. The victim’s girlfriend, as far as we know, was at home and witnessed the scene, alerting 112. After the crime, the alleged murderer attempted to escape by hiding among the hedges of a garden, but was chased and stopped there by the police and by a policeman living in the area who was woken up by the barking of the neighborhood dogs. The man is currently hospitalized in Padua for checks.
The 32-year-old’s body was found this morning with a deep knife wound in his side. After the murder, a man on the run was noticed in the area, the alleged killer trying to climb over the fence of a house. However, the inspector and the 112 patrol who arrived on site managed to stop him by finding him between the hedges.
In the case, from the investigations by the Carabinieri and the police it emerges that the victim and the alleged murderer knew each other, having both had a past with drug addiction problems. The alleged murderer had recently left a recovery facility. It cannot be ruled out that the motive may be linked to the world of drug addiction. It also emerged that the arrested in recent days he had been seen walking around town with a knifeso much so that a bartender had alerted the police who had summoned him to the barracks.
