Reports in Bastia Umbra during Agriumbria: arrests for weapons and fraud

Complaints in Bastia Umbra – During the “Agriumbria” event in Bastia Umbra, i Carabinieri of the Company of Assisi took legal action against three people, resolving situations in the field that could have degenerated into more serious incidents. Among those reported are a 34-year-old man, of Romanian origin, and two women, aged 23 and 24 respectively, also Romanian, involved in separate illicit activities within the exhibition centre.

The incident with the man occurred when, after being moved away from the entrance of the fair due to lack of ticket, he attempted to return armed with a large stone with the intention of attacking a employee to safety. The timely intervention of the Carabinieri prevented the situation from degenerating. After disarming and identifying the man, he was referred to the Public Prosecutor’s Office of Perugia for the crime of illegal possession of weapons or objects capable of offending.

During the same day, i Carabinieri they also noticed two women who, inside one of the pavilions of the fair, were posing as volunteers from a non-existent charity, collecting donations from visitors. After further investigations, it became clear that the women were involved in a scam attempt. Also in this case, the authorities acted promptly, reporting the two women to the Prosecutor’s Office for attempted fraud.

These interventions highlight the importance of the presence and supervision of law enforcement at large public events such as Agriumbria, where the risk of accidents and illicit activities can be high. Thanks to the rapid response of the Carabinieri, both visitors and exhibitors were able to continue to participate in the event safely, confirming the effectiveness of the security measures adopted during these events.
