THECoffee, what a passion. It could be subtitled like this the workshop which will be held tomorrow from 1.30pm to 2.15pm in the Sala Frantoio of the Relais Histò in Taranto, by title: “Are you still making a mound? How to make mocha: errors and secrets”. The event which promises to reveal all the behind the scenes to enjoy a good coffee, is included in the dense program of events, laboratories, workshops and tastings of the sixth edition of the Ego Food Festival which will take place between Villa Peripato and Histò from 10th to 12th May.

Protagonists of the event intended for most loved drink by Italians they are two Taranto doc, also a symbol of quality and specialty in the world of coffee: Rossella Ninfole, president of Caffè Ninfole e Valentina Palange, aka Specialty Pal, the coffee storyteller, but also communication expert, who since 2018 has been spreading the culture of quality coffee on her social media with great success. «Let’s talk about coffee starting from a story that begins in 1921 in a narrow street in the old city of Taranto – explains Rossella Ninfole – The history of Oldest roastery in Puglia, it will also help us explain that beyond the exotic world of coffee, the provenance, the single origins, the aromas of distant lands to be preserved, there is a story of quality that must be taken into consideration every time you sip a cup of coffee”.

«What is coffee really? First of all, a valuable product, a fruit obtained with a lot of love! – adds Valentina Palange – We will retrace together with Rossella Ninfole the history of the Taranto roasting company, symbol of Taranto and of expatriates and non-Taranto residents! More, we will teach you how to prepare the mocha in the best possible way, dispelling many false myths. Tap or bottle water? Should the mountain be made or not? Are you pressed?”.

Valentina Palange aka Specialty Pal

Ego Food Festival therefore enhances the territory and does so, as for the black mussels which will be celebrated on May 12th in the contest “Cozza in City”, starting right from territorial excellences now recognized throughout the world. After the dialogue on coffee between Specialty Pal and Rossella Ninfole, in which the role of consumers and roasters with respect to environmental protection and sustainable consumption will also be discussed, we will move on to practice. «We will prepare the coffee and Valentina Specialty Pal will explain to all the workshop participants how to get the most and best from your moka – concludes Rossella Ninfole – Everything, regarding quality, obviously with Caffè Ninfole».
