The now traditional spring event of Porta Romana, The Alley of…wineconfirms the formula for 2024 themed dinners upon reservation. The intimate and picturesque setting of Vicolo dei Galli, the pedestrian street that connects Piazza del Collegio with the Santa Chiara complex, in the most authentic historic center of Castiglion Fiorentino, will host two food and wine events where the excellence of typical products combines with culture of wine: a combination to be experienced and enjoyed through dozens of different facets, and this, in a nutshell, is the declared objective of the event since its birth in 2016.

Saturday 4 May goes on stage Agreste, the peasant dinner par excellence which, in addition to recalling the tradition of peasant civilization, intends to enhance its contemporary ingredients. An extensive menu with a strong Arezzo twist, from black crostini to mixed roast, will be accompanied by examples of two historical Tuscan denominations, strictly red, Rosso di Montepulciano and Chianti Classico. It goes without saying that the intent is to make the most of the history of Sangiovese, the cornerstone of the wine culture of our region.

As part of Agreste, in synergy with the Municipality of Castiglion Fiorentino and the Proloco, the following day (Sunday 5th) will be organized in Piazza del Collegio “The peasant child”a playful initiative dedicated to children, for the rediscovery of ancient crafts.
