The “Lions Day” in Marina di Ragusa, scheduled for Sunday 28 April, promises a day dedicated to solidarity and health prevention. Numerous activities are planned on the terrace of the marina, with the slogan “solidarity without borders”.
THE INITIATIVES
Among the initiatives for health prevention, free screening for diabetes will be offered, as well as carotid ultrasound scans for the prevention of cerebrovascular diseases and meetings for the prevention of gynecological diseases. The street unit of the health company for the prevention of alcoholism and drug addiction will also be present.
For the little ones, there will be entertainment activities with the distribution of balloons and activities of the Scicli puppy clubs. Furthermore, the awards ceremony for the winners of the “peace poster” for the province of Ragusa will be held.
It will also be possible to participate in the collection of used glasses, used smartphones and tablets. During the event, Lions services will also be presented, such as youth exchanges, activities in Burkina Faso and environmental protection initiatives.
“Lions Day” is organized by the Lions Clubs of the eighth district of Ragusa, which includes the Ragusa Host, Vittoria, Modica, Comiso, Scicli, Ragusa Monti Iblei and Ragusa Valli Barocche Lions clubs. It will be an important opportunity to promote solidarity and raise awareness about health prevention and the importance of environmental protection.
