Virtus Ragusa will return to the field sooner than expected, after finishing in second place in the Gold Play-Ins of the Interregional Serie B championship. The team will face Svincolati Milazzo on Sunday 5 May at 7pm, in game 1 of the quarter-finals of the Promotion Playoffs, at PalaPadua. The FIP Regional Committee accepted the request to bring forward the match. Game 2 will be played on Sunday 12 May, at 6pm, at the PalaMilone in Milazzo, while for the eventual “match” the PalaPadua remains booked for Wednesday 15th at 8pm.
Virtus Ragusa has resumed training under the guidance of coach Recupido and the technical staff. In head-to-head matches with Milazzo during the first phase of the season, Virtus excelled by winning both matches. The Ragusan team won the first leg 90-80 and the return leg 88-72. However, Milazzo is a healthy team, which has achieved 6 victories in the last 8 matches of the Silver phase of the Play-Ins.
Coach Recupido commented on the pairing with the Svincolati, recognizing the strength of the opponent and underlining the importance of competitiveness in the playoffs. She seems to be ready for a challenging, but inspiring series.
