Forlì doesn’t give up and makes another appeal

Forlì yesterday filed an appeal on the Cecotti case. After the rejection in the first instance, in which the Judge had suggested to the Romagna club not to go further “given the consolidated orientation of the Sports Court of Appeal on the subject of suspensions to be served”, the Forlì president Gianfranco Cappelli did not want to listen to reason and after receiving the documents from the LND, at 6.30 pm he sent the second degree appeal, again asking for the defeat of Carpi. A total of 12 pages which do not give new ideas, but reiterate those already touched upon in the first instance, all denied by the Judge: Forlì speaks of two flaws in the reasoning of the first instance sentence, one on the “thema decidendum” and one on the lack of correspondence between asked and pronounced, then reiterates that there is no difference between cancellation of the match and its result, reiterating that although serving the disqualification with Pistoiese in reality (no one knows how) Cecotti did not serve it, forgetting that some players (including Calanca), thanks also to the warnings received in the matches against Pistoiese, were disqualified by the Judge on Tuesday and will miss tomorrow’s matches. Now the ball passes to the Judge who has 24 hours to schedule the hearing in chambers, which must be held within two (weekday) days of the complaint, therefore between Monday 29th, Tuesday 30th April or Thursday 2nd May. The only real effect of an appeal that has already been defined as very weak at first instance is that of reducing Carpi’s chances of celebrating promotion to the Lega Pro in Imola, which given the +4 with 2 games to go for mathematics would be certain with a success. The only celebratory case is that of Carpi’s victory and Ravenna’s knockout in Fidenza with Borgo, because the +7, even net of any 3 points lost, would make the effect of the appeal irrelevant.

FROM THE FIELD. Stop Arrondini (ankle) who is heading for a forfeit and Mandelli at high risk (thigh problem): Sall is ready in attack, Bouhali warms up in directing, behind without Calanca who is disqualified it’s Rossini’s turn with Zucchini.

FANS. There are 398 separate turn tickets available online on Etes.it until 8pm today, plus around 100 in the stands. Today at 10am the groups from the Curva met at the stadium to encourage the team in the final finishing touches.
