Storytelling, the Italian Center celebrates 6 years of activity

On April 25th the Italian Storytelling Center of Portico celebrated its six-year anniversary, the first of its kind in Italy, founded by Giovanna Conforto, a Florentine globetrotter who tells stories and stopped in the town of Dante and Beatrice, where she still animates the activities as artistic director . There are currently around twenty members, chaired by Lia Fiorentini from Bocconi, with headquarters on the third floor of the Municipality.

Flavio Milandri, communication manager of the Center and Forlì artist in the world of schools and artistic communication, takes stock of these six years of activity in Portico, in the Montone valley, in Romagna and beyond: “In the last year we have put three projects are planned. The first, entitled ‘Whare-to’, has obtained European funding, together with a partner from Malta and is being carried out in Portico typical art of Antonio Gaudì), created on the walls of the external stairs of the town hall by some storytellers led by the Forlì artist Luigi Impieri, teacher of art history at the classical high school of Forlì”. The work will be inaugurated on May 9th at 11.30am, during a party in the square, with citizens and school pupils and with the local ceramist Lucia Gennaretti, author of a work of art. Milandri continues: “The second project in the pipeline, ‘Come a casa’, concerns a reflection on how to inhabit the places of our Apennines, together with eight associations, in collaboration with VolontàRomagna and with the coordination of Auser Volontariato. The third project, ‘ Climate and legality’, consists of telling stories, the main activity of us storytellers, on the fight against climate change. The members of ten associations participate, with SuperPartes from Forlì as the leader”.
