Bach, Rossini, Rota and Morricone at the Furlo Gorge

After the great success of the first excursion to Monte Petrano, which attracted 82 participants on 7 April, the “The sounds of the Apennines” exhibition organized by the CAI Pesaro and Urbino in collaboration with the “Gioachino Rossini” music conservatory is ready to propose the second initiative of the project. Nature and art are united in a fascinating union in these eight special excursions, from April to September, on the mountain groups of the province of Pesaro and Urbino which will end each time with a concert at high altitude performed by the students of the Conservatory.

Tomorrow the destination is the Furlo gorge with a 10 km trek that will start at 9.30 from the church of Pietralata (550 meter difference in altitude, 510 meter descent). A walk of medium difficulty, marked as tourist/hiking, in which the travel time amounts to 3.30 hours excluding stops. At the end, around 12, the “Seem Sax Quartet” will perform, composed of Eleonora Fiorentini (soprano sax), Matteo Rossini (alto sax), Sara Albani (tenor sax) and Emiliano Bastari (baritone sax). They will perform music by Bach (Aria sulla Quarta Corda), Rossini (Rossinimania), Giacchino (Married Life), Tiersen (The fabulous world of Amélie), Rota (Amarcord and La Passerella d’addio), Leven (Cruella de Vil), Morricone (Oscar-winning music) and Piazzolla (Libertango). The companion of the day is Daniele Piccini. The meeting point in Pesaro is the new cemetery car park (8.30 am), while in Fano via dell’Abbazia (8.45 am). Info and reservations on 329 4509942.
