April 23rd, the day of Patron Saint of Frabosa Sottanathe event opened with the usual event “San Giorgio and the Book”.
The readers of “Montagne Narranti” spoke with the writer Franco Faggiani about his latest novel “The inventory of clouds” (Fazi Editore) in the presence of a large audience in a packed council chamber.
The evening was opened by the Mayor Adriano Bertolino who illustrated the program of the event, which will continue on Friday 26 April, at 9pm at the Gala Palace, with the video projection of the film “Mari, Monti e Gettoni d’oro” by Sandro Gastinelli, in memory of Piero Tassone, born in fraction Miroglio of Frabosa Sottana in 1923 and died last October in Valle d’Aosta.
Saturday 27 April from 3pm afternoon dedicated to children and teenagers thanks to the games and entertainment organized by the Municipal Youth Forum. In the evening, at 9pm, the unmissable Gran Polentata at the Gala Palace with mixed cold cuts, polenta with two sauces (sausage and cream cheese), Raschera DOP cheese, bunet and hazelnut cake. The evening will be enlivened by the participation of the local singing group “I Menhir”.
Finally, on Sunday 28 April, the classic appointment with the actual “Fera ‘d San Giors” and the traditional livestock exhibition, now in its sixteenth edition, where you can admire over 150 heads of livestock including cattle, horses, goats and sheep thanks to the participation of the best breeders in the Monregalese area. The fair opens at 8 am, while the award ceremony for the best livestock in the various categories is scheduled for 12 pm. The jury will be chaired, as per tradition, by Dr. Bartolomeo Bovetti. At 1pm the eagerly awaited gastronomic event with the “Breeders’ Lunch” at the Gala Palace. Throughout the day there will be a market of typical products and crafts, together with some figures from the ancient professions of the living nativity scene of Pianvignale. As for some years now, the Monregalesi Archers Group will be present and will make those who want it try the noble art of archery. There will also be a face painting station set up for the little ones. An absolute novelty is the presence of the Primantenna cameras with the television presenter Elia Tarantino.

After a daring season from a meteorological point of view in which our stations, despite the very precarious snow conditions, still managed to offer the maximum service to our tourists, with the patronal festival we officially open to the summer season and its interesting events ». «An event strongly linked to traditions, which we highlight with the fair which highlights the best garments from the Monregalese area which will, in the coming months, characterize our mountain pastures with their presence – continues the mayor -. The religious moment will be important and the rich market will not be missing, accompanied by the numerous events that prepare for the key moment of Sunday. I remember with pleasure the due tribute to Piero Tassone, who passed away on the threshold of a century of life, thanks to the film that we are going to screen exclusively».
